Sometimes kids need to earn a few shillings for their personal use. So the next time your kid asks for something new why not ask or encourage the kid to work for the money. Before we go into ways the kids can make money, it is important to always remember that child labor is illegally and thew kind of jobs do not violate them in any way.
Now the first way for a kid to earn money is by doing little household chores. The chores may include baby sitting, cleaning and house maintenance, pet walking or sitting, sweeping around the house and garden maintenance among other chores. A kid can do these among other household chores and the parents can afterwards award the kid for the work done. Doing household chores can be beneficial to the kid in two ways. First it encourages the kid to do the work hence making the child independent and at the same time making the child becoming physical active. Secondly it makes the kid earn financial gains.
The second way of earning money for kids is by participating in agricultural based activities. This can include growing of vegetables, fruits or even rearing manageable animals like chickens or rabbits. The product from the activities can then be sold and the money directed to the kid’s use or even directed to the kid’s account.
Another way of kids earning money is by involving themselves in outside money making practices. This can include voluntary involvement in social work that pays. This can include litter collection, car washing, tree planting, wash windows, newspaper delivery, performance of household chores for neighbors and friends at a fee among other activities.
Another way is by the kids using personal talents. Different kids will obviously have different talents that may include but not limited to dancing, entertainment, athletics, singing, sports, among others. The talents can be used in earning some money for the kids. Like for instance a kid may be gifted for showcasing a certain talent and the gifts can be translated into money.
The final way to make money for kids is by them performing well in both educational and other sectors. In most situations good performance is always awarded. Well performing kids can be presented with monetary or other forms of awards. Again the awards can be presented by either parents or other related bodies like schools or colleges. The awards if not monetary can be translated into monetary equivalents as stated earlier. Other ways of kids making money include making and selling of jewelry, face painting, tutoring younger kids, photography among others.
A word of advice on kids labor is that if the job or activity that a kid does is not in line with the legal requirements then one can be caught, arrested and prosecuted for abuse of children rights. So it is important to ensure that before directing a kid to perform a certain task, the task is in line with the child’s age and interest.
